BUSINESS ANALYST - SYDNEY

responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders across the department, such as relevant business areas, IT development and support teams and others;

  • Undertake business analysis tasks such as organising and conducting stakeholder workshops, collecting user requirements;

  • Scope, cost and document business high level requirements

  • Methodically investigate, analyse, review and document business processes and specifications;

  • Contribute to business process modeling;

  • Analyse and document detailed business requirements in the form of systems specifications;

  • Liaise with business to resolve system issues; and

  • Liaise with development team to implement required system development.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated experience as a business analyst within an application development environment, with preference to those with no less than 5 years in analysing complex business processes within an agile framework such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or equivalent;

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise and negotiate with business and technical personnel;

  • Well-developed documentation skills for writing clear concise business requirements;

  • Sound and effective organisational skills, including the ability to manage changes to business requirements and priorities and work within tight timeframes; and

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve outcomes and meet deadlines.

desirable CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Department of Employment Programmes, the Employment Services System (ESS) and/or related Department of Human Services IT systems;

  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics CRM solution or Mobile App Development;

  • Experience in producing Business Process Models and using BPM software; and

  • Experience in the development of Business Intelligence datawarehouse and reporting.
