Job Description
We are seeking an engineer with a strong knowledge of safety management and safety
engineering associated with the performance, analysis, management, and optimisation
of Defence capabilities. The Safety Engineer must understand the considerations
associated with safety management and safety engineering services and have
experience planning and implementing systems and processes to address these
elements in accordance with Navy Technical Bureau and the Navy Regulatory System.
The candidate must be a qualified PR actioner with higher degree qualifications or
relevant industry experience of more than 8 years. The candidate must have highly
developed written and verbal communication skills, with knowledge of Defence technical regulatory frameworks. The candidate will need to work under broad direction, is fully responsible for meeting allocated technical objectives and has a role in the assignment of tasks and responsibilities.
The required services may include:
Conduct capability and concept development in context the system safety program;
Conduct system safety analysis, development, V&V
Provide advice and guidance on system safety engineering analysis techniques and processes;
Conduct co‐ordination, direction, and evaluation of system safety activities in a defence environment;
Plan and deliver engineering services, regulatory compliance, resource management, and project outcomes; and
Conduct reviews.
