Job Description

The Scheduler shall be responsible for the integration, on a monthly basis, of a variety of supplier and subcontractor schedules into the overall Integrated Master Schedule to create a single master schedule that the Commonwealth can use to manage monitor and control both the individual capability elements as well as the whole CIED unit.

Prior to integration of the supplier and subcontractor schedules, the Scheduler will be required to analyse the submissions and identify any risks or issues to the relevant Commonwealth staff. The Scheduler is to generate and distribute a range of reports that provide key project status information to the project team and other identified stakeholders.


Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience


The Scheduler must have:

  • Project Management qualifications at the Certificate IV or higher;

  • Advanced skills in; Open Plan Professional (OPP), Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel;

  • Defence acquisition environment;

  • Project scheduling and time management;

  • Application of the CASG Project Controls Manual;

  • Integration of supplier and subcontractor schedules into an Integrated Master Schedule; and

  • Integrating the Master Schedule with other reporting tools and systems.

The role is minimum skill Level 3 (Advanced Practitioner).


KEY TASKS

  • Establish and manage the Schedule and Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB);

  • Engage with Commonwealth project team members and analyse the submitted supplier subcontractor schedules;

  • Integrate supplier and subcontractor schedules in OPP; and

  • Analyse and update budget and expenditure in the Integrated Master Schedule.

The required services may also include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish and manage the Schedule and Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) as detailed in the CASG Project Controls Manual;

  • Engage with Commonwealth project team members and analyse the submitted supplier subcontractor schedules;

  • Integrate supplier and subcontractor schedules in OPP;

  • Obtain activity status information from the Commonwealth project team;

  • Update the schedule (on a monthly basis) to reflect revised Supplier and Subcontractor schedules and the status of the Commonwealth activities;

  • Analyse and update budget and expenditure in the Integrated Master Schedule;

  • Develop and provide a suite of reports for both internal project team members and external stakeholders;

  • Review and maintain the schedule to ensure its correct integration with associated reporting tools/systems (such as the Monthly Reporting Systems (MRS));

  • Provide project management and contract administration assistance to the project team;

  • Attend and support project meetings and reviews as required;

Develop and use schedule elements to assist the CIED unit to adequately monitor and report on project cost and schedule progress, including:

  • development of master schedules;

  • development of a Project Work Breakdown Structure (PWBS);

  • development of the supporting PWBS data dictionary; and

  • integration of the overall project schedule including resource and cost data at a level to provide practical Earned Value Performance Measurement (EVPM).
